Saxenhammer & Co. advises on the sale of fromAtoB GmbH to Tank & Rast Gruppe

Saxenhammer & Co. Corporate Finance GmbH (“Saxenhammer & Co.”) acted as the exclusive sell-side M&A advisor to the seller of fromAtoB GmbH (“fromAtoB”), Dr. Philipp Hackländer of White & Case, in connection with the disposal of its assets and business operations to the Autobahn Tank & Rast Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG (“Tank & Rast”), based in Bonn, Germany. The deal was signed and successfully completed on March 1st, 2018.

fromAtoB, founded 2008 in Aachen, is a leading intermodal travel search and booking platform in Germany with over 650 international stops. fromAtoB runs a desktop and a mobile version for Android and Apple, and currently operates in Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The start-up has already raised about € 13 m since 2009 and works with over 600 different national and international transport providers such as Deutsche Bahn and FlixBus. With its technology leadership, the company offers, as the first mover in the market, a comprehensive intermodal technology which allows customers to combine different types of transportation with the advantage of the best price and/or the fastest route.

Together with its franchise partners, Tank & Rast operates around 360 filling stations and around 410 service stations (including about 50 hotels) on motorways in Germany. About 500 million travelers visit Tank & Rast’s service facilities each year. Additionally, the company operates the sanitary brand, SANIFAIR with 520 facilities on motorways, in train stations or shopping centers all over Europe and the service brand Serways with 225 service points and eight hotels alongside motorways in Germany.
