Saxenhammer & Co. advised Dr. Sponagel Rechtsanwälte on the sale of TrustBills to FinTech Studio

Saxenhammer & Co. acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Dr. Sponagel Rechtsanwälte on the sale of TrustBills. TrustBills was founded in 2016 by Jörg Hörster and Dr. Johannes Ulbricht as the first true sale auction platform for trade receivables. Due to a clash among shareholders, the company had to file for insolvency, with the business operations not being affected.

TrustBills connects business sellers of B2B invoices (trade receivables) with diversified sources of liquidity, including banks, asset managers and corporates, providing continuous access to working capital at the lowest possible cost, allowing sellers to access a whole market of buyers and getting the highest price through a modified Vickrey auction model.

Initially financed by the DZ Bank and Deutsche Bank, TrustBills went through a successful beta phase in 2018, followed by the official market entry with the first institutional investors in 2019. Due to a clash among the shareholders, TrustBills had to undergo an insolvency process resulting in a successful sale to FinTech Studio.
