The Need for an Americanization of the German VC Culture

Innovative German companies are in demand globally – but it is exactly that “global” component that is also part of the problem. Companies seeking to expand internationally require large amounts of venture financing. However, German investors were hardly involved in the very big financing rounds. In order to create a better investment culture, the two scarce resources, “capital” and “education”, must be developed more strongly. In social terms, entrepreneurship must gain more prestige – also driven by education and political initiatives. Above all, however, the framework for building a significant German venture capital industry must improve.
