Saxenhammer & Co. advises Gustav Zech Foundation on the sale of ELABO GmbH to Bott Group
Stuttgart (Germany), 24.02.2021 – Saxenhammer & Co. acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to Gustav Zech Foundation for the transaction of a leading manufacturer of intelligent workstations and automated test systems to Bott Group. The Bott Group headquartered in Gaildorf, Germany is a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of workshop equipment, in-vehicle equipment and workplace systems with production facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom and Hungary. Bott entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of ELABO.
Having considered ELABOs’ business as non-core activity within GZS Digital, a subsidiary of Gustav Zech Foundation, the Seller together with Saxenhammer & Co., initiated the sell-side process in autumn 2020. Despite the challenging market environment and the restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the process, including a global investor approach, was launched promptly and finalized within six months. The identification of an investor with a high strategic fit as well as the fast implementation of the process with a satisfying result for all parties demonstrate the strengths of Saxenhammer & Co.
The Saxenhammer & Co. deal team was led by Christian Saxenhammer (Managing Director), who was supported by Maximilian Zimmermann (Vice President), Marcel Brix (Vice President), Mark Seewald (Associate) and Benjamin Wolfinger (Analyst). “We manage to efficiently execute the sale process despite challenging conditions during the COVID-19 period. Having run a competitive bidding process, we achieve a result which exceed the expectations of our client”, said Christian Saxenhammer.
